About SureFire Training

All our instructors are experienced trained professionals from within the emergency services.

Richard (Pip) Pullen

Richard’s passion for first aid started when he became a first aid supervisor for a busy leisure centre, followed by a brief spell in the Ambulance Service.

In 1997 Richard made a full time move to the Fire & Rescue Service where in 2003 he became a front-line Instructor teaching subjects including First Aid and Trauma, Defibrillator Training and Fire Extinguishing training.

Richard's recent qualifications include First Person On Scene (FPoS) 2007, Adult Teacher Training – Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) 2008 and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) 2009.

From voluntary work with the youth service to one-to-one tuition, Richard’s aim is to give trainees the confidence to help others in an emergency situation.

Richard has a natural ability to instil his own enthusiasm for First Aid and to motivate course participants. Extremely high standards of tuition make courses easy to understand, memorable and enjoyable. I will be happy to share feedback from previous course participants.
