Who is the course suitable for?

A comprehensive 3 day course for businesses who require employees to gain or update their First Aid skills, leading to HSE approved certification.

On completion of the course candidates will be qualified to undertake the role of an First Aider. Certification lasts for three years, however the HSE recommend that the CPR/refresher module is carried out every 12 months in order to ensure that skill levels are maintained.

The Health and Safety Regulations (First Aid) 1981 and Approved Code of Practice 1997 obligates employers to ensure that their workforce have adequate First Aid provision while at work.

Participants will gain First Aid skills and knowledge in accordance with the latest HSE guidelines and will learn straightforward and commonsense ways of dealing with a variety of emergency situations.

How will the participants be assessed?

Certification is dependent on successful completion of the course. On the last day you will be required to prove competency in what you have learnt on the course by theory and practical assessments.

Where will participants attend the course?

This course can be carried out at the client’s premises or an external venue by prior arrangement.

What will participants do on the course?

They will receive theoretical knowledge and undertake practical exercises where appropriate to underpin the theory. The course consists of interactive presentations, a course manual (useful for future reference) and ends with Certification.

What will participants gain from this course?

They will gain the knowledge and confidence to carry out the role of a First Aider and will be able to deal with a variety of emergency situations.
